BEETHOVEN - PIANO SONATAS Nos. 7, 15, 17

Pianist Per Enflo was born in Stockholm, Sweden. His teachers include Bengt Utterström and Gottfrid Boon (a student of Artur Schnabel), Bruno Seidlhofer and Geza Anda. In 1956 and 1961 Per was the winner of national Swedish competitions for young pianists. He made his official debut in the Stockholm Concert Hall in 1963. After living in the US for most of his grown up life, Per has now moved back to Sweden. He performs frequently in recitals as a soloist, concerto soloist, chamber musician and accompanist.

In the US he had many collaborators, foremost violinist Hristo Popov in recordings, in performances in International Chamber Music Festivals and in tours in the US, (Carnegie Hall 2013). Recent collaborators include violinists Semmy Stahlhammer, Bernt Lysell and Hans Enflo; cellists Magnus Lanning, Isabel Blommé and Nuri Oh; clarinetist Dries van den Poel and the Weber String Quartet.

On this CD we hear Per Enflo perform three piano sonatas by Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827):
no. 7 - op. 10 no 3
no. 15 - op. 28 ’Pastoral’
no. 17 - op. 31 no 2 ’The Tempest’

An ongoing project is recordings of Mozart piano concertos with Sofia Sinfonietta under Svilen Simeonov, released by nosag records.
