Cantores Mariae was formed in December 1988 by members from Maria Motet
Choir, The Royal Opera Choir and the Oscar Motet Choir. The ensemble
has specialized in ancient music, mostly from the Renaissance and
early Baroque, but the list of music also includes works from
Gregorian chant up to contemporary modern pieces. The
repertoire includes both sacred to the profane, both
vocal and instrumental.
