nosag CD 046Druve - SCHUMANN: DUETS AND PIANO MUSIC

Duets and great piano pieces by Robert Schumann performed by the Druve twins, a duo that gave us duets by Mendelssohn on nosag CD 019 "...exactly the way it sounded when Felix and his sisters sang at home - pure and somewhat naïve." according to critics. Now they collaborate with very personal pianist Lars Hägglund, who also presents some of Schumanns most wellknown piano music, but in a way you NEVER heard them played. How about an almost 8 minutes of Träumerei, for example?

nosag CD 044Staffan Björklund - DIALOGUES...

Staffan Björklund (b. 1944), former cathedral organist in Linköping, Sweden, now free lance as a pianist and composer, created this enormous "Dialogues pour piano seul" 1991 when he spent some months in Paris, re-taking contact with his friends from studying years, and also concentrating on composing. The result is an amazingly powerfull solo piece, 70 minutes long and filled with extreme expression and emotion. The recording, from the performance at Swedish Academy of Music 1993, captures the intensity that even caused a string to breake in the grand Steinway piano!

nosag CD 088Solveig Wikman plays DAG LUNDIN

Solveig Wikman´s debut on the concert platform took place in 1965 and since then she has given concerts as a soloist, performed chamber music and acted as an accompanist all over Sweden, the neigh-bouring Nordic countries and other countries. She has also played piano duets with her husband Bertil Wikman for concerts, radio, TV and recordings. Since 1978 she has been one of Sweden’s few full-time pianists, at present at Sörmland’s Music & Theatre.
For many years Solveig Wikman has been one of the first to take an active part on behalf of Dag Lundin’s piano compositions. Many of them have been performed at concerts and some have been recorded for Radio Sweden.

Dag Lundin may be said to be a ‘tonal composer of today’, one who has never been interested in radical experiments in his composing. He treats the instruments and the singing voice in a traditional manner and prefers to write music that appeals to the general public. All music must be melodical and have a main thread, a connecting thought, he says; it may be in some repetition, a bass line, a rhythm or a special motive. Dag Lundin’s musical style can be described as a Nordic constellation of late Romanticism and Impressionism with elements of folk music.

nosag CD 2090Staffan Björklund - 12 modulationen, Palindrom, Reminiszenzen (2CD)

"12 Modulationen, Palindrom und Reminiszenzen" has its spiritual starting point in Bach’s “Das Wohltemperierte Klavier,” and the work’s pianistic play it is also related to K. Stockhausen’s "Klavierstücke." In the field of energy between these poles, an inner drama "an inner battle" plays itself out: the lone person’s battle with himself and his means of expression, the lonely fight before the ice-cold and ancient eye of the universe.

This is a Double CD at single CD price!
